What Society Is Doing To Your Weight Loss
You know you can always be healthier but you are cautious about buying into a weight loss program, especially one that costs money. What if it doesn’t work? What if it’s too hard? What if I quit? I was reading Seth Godin’s blog on Monday morning 12/23/13 about an abundance of caution. It’s a quick read so take a look now before you continue on. This really made me think about how the abundance of caution has invaded our thoughts when it come to weight loss. You have been conditioned to be cautious. Your parents taught you to not talk to strangers as a child and society taught you to obey the law. Then religion and school taught us the Ten Commandments (I was raised Catholic) and graduating from college to get a well-paying career later in life. Many of the above examples are done with good intentions to keep you safe from harm. But others such as the media news coverage of anything negative becoming newsworthy in society has conditioned us to be cautious.
How does this affect my weight loss?
This abundance of caution has allowed you to limit yourself in succeeding at your weight loss journey. You are afraid to take the first step because you aren’t sure where it’s going to take you. But I can tell you one thing – If you don’t decide to do something you will be left to reap the results of inaction. If you don’t act now you will continue to stay unhealthy, overweight and at risk for future health problems. The Center For Disease Control has published the statistical data about adult obesity. This explain why your weight loss is more important than just looking good.
- More than one-third of U.S. adults (35.7%) are obese.
- Obesity-related conditions include heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and certain types of cancer, some of the leading causes of preventable death.
- The estimated annual medical cost of obesity in the U.S. was $147 billion in 2008 U.S. dollars; the medical costs for people who are obese were $1,429 higher than those of normal weight.
You Have To Invest In Your Future

Take a risk to get healthy, lose weight and get your self-confidence When I first decided to do an at home workout with my Team Beachbody Coach I was nervous. I wasn’t sure what I should be eating, how much I should be eating and what the heck Shakeology was. But thanks to my coach he helped me get my diet figured out and a great workout program with Shakeology. At the end of 90 days I lost 17 lbs. and 2 dress sizes. If I wouldn’t have taken that risk I would not have had the success I had! I want to help you and others who want to be successful in their at home weight loss journey. I want you to know that you are not alone and removing your fear will propel you to taking the first step towards a healthier you! You don’t have to join my team to be successful but I hope you do a program that gets you great weight loss results that last. It’s better than spending over $1400 more a year in medical bills next year right?
Change Your Perspective About Your Weight Loss
It’s time to change the way society wants you to think. Stop believing what the popular masses are telling you and change your perspective of your life and weight loss results. Why not instead think: What if I did succeed? What if I did reach my goals? What if I finished the workout program? A change in your attitude will help you gain the confidence to take the next step in your weight loss journey. You have to understand that you may have to purchase equipment like free weights, a heart rate monitor and a good pair of cross training shoes. You may have to spend money on an at home workout and healthier food but isn’t that a small price to pay for your health and well-being? Wouldn’t you rather spend the money on these things and not an extra $1400 or more on hefty medical bills each year? I think you are worth it!
